Linkage from the past week, real estate related:

  • With all the athletes moving teams so often these days, it seems there are a lot of them that are just renting them out while they bounce around the United States until there playing days are over. Many have also said they will never own again until they are retired or settled down in one place.  So much for those special real estate agents that just work with athletes, time to reinvent. (Vikings fans, Brett Favre gets a shout out by renting out former Vikings fullback Tony Richardson home)
  • Many are wondering if their town will boom again, seems like it might be far off for everyone. Here are some signs from CNN Money.
  • Ouch, nuff said on this one: One in Four borrowers underwater. Make sure to click on the infographic, Minnesota has a 15.5% negative equity, it could be worse Nevada has 65% negative equity for percentage of borrowers owning more on their home that what it is worth.
  • Should you stay or should you go now? Distressed homeowners think about what to do next.
  • The joys of the redemption stage via StarTrib
  • YES! I would live in this house!
  • Throwing more good money after bad I presume from CNBC.

Enjoy!
