The North Loop neighborhood is also commonly known as the Warehouse District has seen an influx in residential homes starting in the mid 1990′s. Much of the old factories and warehouses have been converted into lofts and condominiums. Many of the buildings in the area have tried to capture the feeling of the past in there building designs. They present the feeling of old and new to residents. The area is heavily populated with people that work in downtown Minneapolis seeking a short route to work via bus, walking, biking, or short car ride. As a result of the influx of residents numerous coffee shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, and boutique stores have begun to line the streets.
